Landry- 2 Months

Landry, wow, you are 2 months old!  Your little personality is beginning to shine more and more each day.  You started smiling and laughing this month, which just melts your Mommy and Daddy's hearts.  You took your first road trip to Daytona Beach and slept in your crib for the first time.  You had more visitors come to meet and love on you.  Aunt Lauren came from Iowa, Aunt Beth Degler came from Kentucky, and Natalie (Mommy's best friend) came from D.C.  You are so loved!

Weight: 11 lbs. (30th percentile)  Height: 22.5 inches

Firsts:  
* First road trip to Daytona Beach and first time to the beach (9/30-10/2)
* First time sleeping at night in your crib (9/27)
* First time sleeping through the night (9/26)
* First tailgate with The Move (10/12)
* First smile and laugh
* First babysitter (not family)-Ms. Helene (10/10)
* First time sitting in your Bumbo (10/11)
* First real tears :(

Milestones:  
 - Sleeping through the night.  The first time was 9/27 but didn't start sleeping regularly through the night until 10/10 (8 weeks) and has slept through the night, without having to eat, every night since!
 - Smiling and laughing. You smile a lot in the morning and when you are getting your diaper changed.  When you laugh, sometimes it sounds like you are gagging.
 - Grown out of most newborn clothes.  You are now wearing 0-3 months and some 3 month clothes.

Like Mommy: Just like Mommy, you like to have your alone time.  You love to lay in your swing and look at the window.

Like Daddy: You are super photogenic, just like Daddy.  You also look just like Daddy's baby pictures when you smile.

Mommy's Favorite: Mommy loves when you smile and laugh at her. She also loves when you fall asleep on her shoulder and often just wants to hold you while you sleep, instead of putting you in your crib.

Daddy's Favorite: Daddy loves to make you laugh and loves to post cute pictures of you on Instagram.  Everybody knows how much your Daddy loves you because he talks about you ALL the time!

How We Spend Our Day: You wake up at 6 (almost like clockwork).  You eat and play with Mommy until around 7 and then you go and lay down with Daddy and sleep until around 8 or 8:30.  You eat again around 8:30 and then take a bath and we sometimes go on a walk.  During playtime, you still love your play mat and now love to sit in your Bumbo and talk to Mommy and look at new toys. You sleep around 2 hours in the morning and eat again around 11:30 then playtime.  You take another 2 hour nap in the afternoon and eat again around 3.  We play again  and Daddy comes home and plays with you and then you take an hour to hour and a half nap and have dinner around 6 or 6:30.  Some days you eat again at 8:30 and again at 10, and other days you make it all the way until 10 to eat your last meal.  We try to have bedtime prayers with you before you eat at 10 because you go right to sleep after eating at 10 and sleep until 6.  Some days your naps are not as consistent if we are out running errands or are going to church that day, but that hasn't seemed to affect your sleeping at night.

Best Memory: It's hard to pick just one memory from this month.  We have so many!  Some of the best memories are the first times you really started to smile and recognize us.

Biggest Challenge:  The biggest challenge for Mommy is establishing a routine to get things done around the house.  Now that we have your routine down, Mommy is trying to make to-do lists and get other things done too instead of just watching TV while you nap :)

How We Celebrated Your 2nd Month: You turned 2 months old on a Monday.  We had a pretty low key day. When Daddy got home from work, we took your 2 month pictures in your tie.  For dinner, Mommy made white chicken chili (even though it was 85 degrees out) and you sat in your Bumbo at the table while Mommy and Daddy ate.

Your 1st time at the beach.  It was really windy so it was hard for you to keep your eyes open.

You went with Mommy to watch her get sworn in.  Too bad for Daddy because you cried the whole time and he had to stand in the hall with you and missed the whole thing.  Oh well!  We went to Macaroni Grill for lunch to celebrate.

Landry's Visitors:

Aunt Lauren came from Iowa to meet you and give you kisses.  She also got to go to your month check-up with you.

"Aunt" Beth came to visit you at the end of September.  We went shopping and to the Move on Wednesday night.  We can't wait to see you again, Aunt Beth and meet the rest of the Degler gang!

Mommy's best friend, Natalie, came all the way from Washington D.C. to see you.  We went to church on Sunday and out to eat and shopping with Natalie.  Mommy got to go on a girls' night out and to get her nails done!
