Landry- You are 1 year old! We can't believe how much you've changed and grown since we first held you in our arms that Wednesday afternoon a year ago. We have loved watching you in every stage and have loved discovering and experiencing new things with you. We are so blessed God chose us to be your parents!
Weight: 20 lbs. 8oz. (17th percentile) Height: 28 3/4" (17th percentile)
Firsts:
* First time eating sugar (cake) at your birthday party
* First time in the One-year old room at church
* First birthday party- You had a circus themed party
* First wagon ride
* First time brushing your teeth
* First time drinking from a sippy cup
* First Baby Einstein video
*First temper tantrum :(
* First time celebrating Daddy's birthday
Milestones:
- Walking/Running- You are running everywhere with fewer and fewer falls.
- Independence- You are very independent and want to do things on your own. When we are somewhere new, you are not afraid to go off by yourself and discover new things.
- Attitude- With your growing independence, you are developing a little attitude! We have had a few tantrums where you lie on the floor and arch your back. You can be somewhat stubborn at times. You are still happy most of the time though!
- Communication- You wave bye-bye and blow kisses. You can say da-da and no-no.
Like Mommy: You are definitely a morning person, which is more like Mommy than Daddy.
Like Daddy: You are fearless and love a thrill.
Mommy's Favorite: Mommy loves watching you play and interact with other kids. It makes you seem so much older. She loves that you love people.
Daddy's Favorite: Daddy loves taking you on wagon rides and watching you run and play and enjoy life.
How We Spend Our Day: Wake up around 7 and have a bottle. Eat breakfast around 7:30/8 and then watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse at 8:30. Morning nap from 9-11 (sometimes longer). After lunch, we run errands or go to the library or the park. Afternoon nap from 2-4. Around the time you get up from your afternoon nap, Daddy is home and will play with you before dinner. We eat dinner around 6 and then you get a bath and take your bottle around 7:30. Daddy and Mommy take turns giving you your bottle and reading you a Bible Story and you go to bed around 8.
Best Memory: Your 1st Birthday Party! Grandmommy and Grandaddy came from TN and Aunt Lauren came from IA and Nena came from VA. Several of your little friends came. The party was circus-themed, complete with a ball pit, face painting, and an awesome cake. You got so many nice gifts of fun toys and cute clothes. You played so hard and were so wired after you had your cake.
Biggest Challenge: Keeping up with you! (again this month) You understand more and more, but you like to test us a lot! Because you are so independent and adventurous, you will often want to do things that are dangerous and you don't quite understand that yet. We have to pay close attention to you when we are not at home, which can wear Mommy and Daddy out.
