Happy half-birthday! Can't believe we will be planning your first birthday party in a few months. We say this every month but you are such a joy to be around. Mommy and Daddy love your little personality and the fact that you are starting to pick up on everything. You reach out for everything and are always looking around to see what is going on. You love to touch Mommy and Daddy's faces and give kisses. You are sitting up on your own now and almost crawling. We can't wait to see what next month brings, little Lion Man!
Weight: 15 1/2- 16 lbs Height: Not sure on the weight or height because we don't go back to the doctor until March 1
Firsts:
* Sitting up on own for long periods of time
* Tried to pull yourself up on a toy
* First time trying avocados, pears, apples, sweet potatoes, zucchini, bananas, and peas
* First trip to Busch Gardens with Nena and Poppy- rode the carousel
* Wearing 6-9 month clothing
* First Valentine's Day!
* First Super Bowl party
* First friend's birthday party- Max Martorana turned 1!
* Rocking on hands and knees
Milestones:
- Crawling- Well, not quite yet but oh so close. You can get on your hands and knees and rock back and forth and scoot backwards.
- Teething- No teeth have made their appearance yet, but Mommy can feel them coming up through your gums and you've been chewing hard on your teething toys.
- Vocal- You are much more vocal these days. You like to mimic sounds and scream as loud as you can to hear your own voice. You also know how to scream or cry to get attention, especially when we walk away from you :)
Like Mommy: You don't really like to cuddle. For nap and bedtime, you would rather be put straight into your bed and fall asleep.
Like Daddy: You get really fussy and cranky when you're hungry. When you are in your high chair, you can see Mommy making your meal and you get impatient.
Mommy's Favorite: Mommy loves how happy you are. You are always smiling and laughing. You have started imitating sounds, so often you and Mommy will yell back and forth with each other, mimicking the noise.
Daddy's Favorite: Daddy LOVES hanging out with the Lion any way that he can. Today he hung out on the couch with me for 30 minutes just playing, laughing, and having fun. You are truly one of the biggest blessings of our life. Daddy loves seeing you smile and laugh and loves how big and strong you are getting.
How We Spend Our Day: We are back on a schedule, finally! You wake up between 6-6:30 to eat and most of the time go right back to sleep until 8. You eat breakfast at 8, which consists of a fruit and rice cereal. You go down for a nap around 10 for 1 1/2- 2 hours. You eat lunch at 12, which consists of a fruit and a vegetable. Then you go back down for a nap around 2-2:30 for 1-1/2 hours. You have dinner at 4, which consists of cereal, fruit, and vegetable. Some days you take a small cat nap around 6, but other days you just stay awake. You take a 6 oz. bedtime bottle between 8-8:30 and go right to bed.
Best Memory: Mommy's best memory of this month is one night when she went to get you up from your catnap, you continued to sleep on her shoulder for another hour. You haven't done that since you were an itty, bitty baby, so it was a nice time to just snuggle you.
Another great memory was your baby dedication. You were dedicated along with 4 girls, Merida, who is Daddy's assistant's daughter, and Peyton, who was born a day before you. Pastor Chris led the dedication and gave a great charge to the parents about raising your child to be like Christ and then he prayed over each baby. Pastor Craig was also there and prayed over you. After church, we were invited to celebrate your dedication with Peyton's family at an Italian restaurant, Iavorino's.
Biggest Challenge: There haven't been really any challenges this month. It's been a really fun month. You have had a persistent cough. Your doctor suggested a humidifier, so we have been running that at night and that seems to help.
How We Celebrated Your 6th Month: You turned 6 months on a Friday, so Daddy was home on his day off. We had a pretty low-key day. You played and went on a walk. We had our bible study group over to the house, so you played with your friend, Max.
